For more than 20 years, from playing the hard hitting waitress with Alan Alda in “The Killing Yard”, to the heart-breaking Jewish artist fleeing Nazi-occupied France opposite Julia Ormand in “Varian’s War”, Dawn continues to impress critics and media alike with her depth, range and likability.
Dawn has consistently captured attention from and worked with such directors as Academy Award-winning Denys Arcand (“Stardom”, “Joyeux Calvaire”), Gemini Award-winning Christian Duguay (“Human Trafficking”), Gemini-nominated Pierre Gill (Fakers), Emmy Award-winning Pierre Gang (“Further Tales of the City”), Richard Freidenberg (“Education of Little Tree”) and Pavla Ustinov (“Hotel de L’Avenir”), to name only a few. Dawn recently wrapped the feautre film, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White starring Oscar Award winning Julia Roberts.
With expansive versatility, Dawn even played a very magical “Puck” in “Shakespeare, Words and Music”, and several diverse characters on Gemini Award-nominated “The Tournament”, “L’Auberge de Chien Noir”, “Fries With That”, “Prank Patrol”, and “The Neverending Story”. Recently Dawn wrapped shooting the lead of a comedy web series entitled, “Walter”.
Dawn is also an extremely talented voice actress doing voice overs for commercials on TV, the internet and radio, as well as being several series regular voices on the animated series Jack (TVO) and Fishtronaut (PBS Kids).She is also the unmistakable gravelly voice of the much-loved character “Iggy Inch” in the animation series “Little Lulu”, as well as the distinctive lead voices in several hit series: “Toad Patrol”, “Animal Crackers”, “Mona the Vampire”, and the Emmy Award-winning “Arthur”.
Dawn’s commitment to excellence is reflected in her on-going study with world-renowned acting coaches: Warren Robertson (The Actor’s Studio), John Strasberg, Benson Simmonds (Ivanna Chubbuck), Adriano Lurissevich (Commedia Dell Arte Venezia), among others.
She has garnered much critical acclaim as a celebrated performer in every project she undertakes and continues to be a dedicated and unlimited creative force that must be seen.
